"The Holy Spirit, our Great Teacher, brought to my attention that I had developed a negative pattern of speech. I constantly used phrases like 'I can't' and 'I'm afraid,' when God's Word told me 'I can' and 'Fear not.' My words were out of harmony with God's Word; I was disagreeing with the LORD."

What You Say Is What You Get, Whitaker House, 1976, 13

COMMENTARY

God asked through the prophet Amos, "Can two walk together? Except they be agreed" (Amos 3:3). Relationships of all kinds break down where the parties involved cannot come into agreement with each other. To effectively walk with God, we need to be in total agreement with Him.

We must believe God for who He is, what He says we are and have. God is all powerful and all-knowing(James 1:5), there is nothing too hard for him(Jer. 32:27) and He had assured us that "all things are possible to him that believe"(Mark 9:23).

Dr. Don Gossett is telling us in the above quote how he delivered that he was disagreeing with God. Like Dr. Gossett, many of us disagree with God's Word in various aspects of our lives. Here's the trick; by disagreeing with God's Word we limit Him in our lives. We kind of become dictators to God. We tell Him what things we feel He can do and what things He cannot.

In his book What You Say Is What You Get, Don Gossett talked more about the benefits of agreeing with God and taking Him by His Word. God said you're saved, believe it and you're SAVED! God said ALL things are possible, believe it and ALL things will be possible for you. The LORD is good and his ways are  beautiful and true. Believe Him on what He is saying concerning your your life and situation and you will be the most happiest in your 'world'.
